The Trial of Noninvasive Respiratory Support in Children
Recruitment was completed in 27 months as compared to the expected 30 month recruitment period. We had planned an interim analysis when 300 patients, so 50% of the 600 reached 60 day follow up. And this was completed and the DMACC, which was independent, recommended continuation of the trial without any changes to the protocol. Just a couple of notable points on the consort. You can see that the biggest reason for patients being excluded was the receipt of noninvasive respiratory support for more than two hours at the time of screening. But few patients in the high flow group, five and 17 patients in the CPAP group didn't receive any respiratory support after randomization.
