The Acceptance Paradigm

Dr. Burns: I look at three levels of becoming more and more extreme in our freedom from those thoughts that create so much depression and insecurity. The third level is the fear fantasy where we go into an Alice in Wonderland nightmare world because you see an externalization of voices, the patient is saying their thoughts aren't valid. And then we're saying suppose the thoughts were valid and people really were rejecting you because of your appearance or this or that or whatever the person is afraid of.
