The Science of Habits
A habit is a behavior that you can perform more or less automatically, co like this mental short cut that your brain can use. And one way to think about this is that habits are solutions to the recurring problems that you face. So for example, if you wake up each morning and you put your shoe on and your shoe is untied, in a sense, that is a problem that you need to solve. The first time that you tie your shoes, it's effortful and slow, and you're learning how to do it.
