The Art of Communication in the Patient Experience

Daryl: What I like to do at the end of the interview is try to summarize what was discussed. Sometimes there's some very sensitive things that they're kind of reluctant to bring up. So one of the things I like to think about in terms of the art of communication is just that mnemonics of art, asking the patient what they know about their osteoporosis or diabetes. Reflect back what I hear from them, both from content and emotion. And then tell or share with them what is important, what are myths and where we want to go for the next step.
