The Gator Brain Judgment
We often think that influence means speaking to the judge when sure you could try that, but you might have an easier time speaking to the Gator. The two main dimensions of social judgments are warmth and competence. And if somebody doesn't like you, it doesn't matter if you're competent. If somebody likes you, they can make a lot of excuses for your imperfections.
