The article of McGee and Barber is consonant with what we've been trying to do in this series. And then proposed to take a look at the cognitive science of wisdom. They argued that all of these theories converge on a feature, a central feature of wisdom. It's an insight not just into a particular problem but into a family of problems. We go through qualitative change, qualitative development. There's an actual change in our competence because it’s not an insight into this problem, or this instance where I'm failing to conserve,. Or this instance when I am egocentric.
