One of the biggest mistakes that founders make is they hire their first sales person based on their CV. I would much rather hire for personality and look for somebody who ideally has relevant ish experience but is a jungle fighter, right? So many very experienced sales people get into that environment and just die because they just can't deal with the uncertainty.
