Why Do You Always Say No?

I like to identify things that I do in my life that make no sense to me and then determine why I do them. As a storyteller, it's often a good story. When you're hungry as a kid, you quickly discover it's better to be hungry than to be ashamed. Never admit to your hunger because admitting to your hunger is admitting to the fact that your family doesn't have something they should have. And so I trained myself as a kid to never say yes when someone offered me food.
