"I'd met some amazing people while i was there, and i wanted to help them," he says. "This is what purpose is. It's the desire to serve those who serve others." He recalls being stuck on a flight that had been redirected because it would be carrying home a soldier for whom thy just had a ceremony. The experience left him depressed but inspired him to make himself useful by doing menial chores.
