Meditation - How to Detach Attention From Self-Referential Ideations
When we focus on neutral objects, over time it not only shrinks the amygdala, but strengthens the singular. We are much happier when we're focusing attention on anything other than self-referential ideations. Two clinical psychologists noted that subjects who learn to develop focused dates of attention on neutral sensations report feelings of rapturous joy and a sense of profound meaningfulness. So now what I'm going to do is I'll lead us in such a meditation that actually engages the cortical up or up signaling forward signaling of dopamine which can induce states of bliss.
