The Benefits of a Periodized Training Program
In a workplace context, sometimes it's idea that after you've done a really intense project, you'll have a period where the intensity reduces in your work. And I think there's a principle there that we can take into knowledge work as well. Some of it is about applying that cognitive gears model. It's about focusing your effort in these intense periods of high cognitive gear work and trying to minimize those dimensions of cognitive task loads so that you can really get your best work done. This could be translated both at a micro level day to day to knowledge work, but also over a longer period as well.
