The Theory of Representation in Theater

In traditional representation, there are people in the audience and on the stage. What happens when we're talking about a computer? Laurel wonders what if with computers the representation is more like a spotlight. It's just like I don't quite know how we get here because it doesn't seem like it's an extension or in any way kind of resolves the problem of the theater.
