Most probiotics are going to die in the present stomach acid. When you eat, you start releasing more stomach acid. Most of the microbes that function well as a probiotic are really kind of daytime microbes. They slow down their effect when you go into sleep and fasted state. And we see that bety enough is reduced in the setting of depression.
