How to Tell if a Patient Has an Implantable Device
Knowing what brand the pacemaker or ICDs can actually help our electrophysiology colleagues out a ton. So that person either has the ICD in place for a secondary prevention, meaning they've already had a VT or VFIB episode in the past; or for primary prevention. You would be amazed to know that patients know what they have. And if they don't know, their kids may know, their partner may know, I mean, just ask them. Yep, we can save them from running around with four device interrogation machines that can only imagine.
