Alcohol Related Pancreotitis - What's Going On?
The first association between pancreotitus and elevated lipit o, not necessarily treglycerides, but just high lipid levels in the blood, was proposed way back in 18 65. Now given how long ago the study was conducted, we don't have access to the full protocol, the way that the study was designed, it could raise some ethical questions. But what the group that was studying this was actually they were trying to find out the cause of alcohol related pancreotitis. And because heavy alcohol consumption is known to increase serum tregliserides, they theorized that treglyceride would mediate alcohol related pancreatic disease.
