The Aristotelian Ideal of Meritocracy
In the Aristotelian ideal version of meritocracy, you seem to imply that that would actually be a good or justifiable thing. But remember, I said that we've got a person here who is by nature evil through no fault of their own. And we think they deserve punishment for something that's out of their control. Is that something you would just bite the bullet on and say it's just a kind of fact about what makes a bad person?
