There's a psychoanalytic reading of why Donald Trump is the way he is. And, you know, what kinds of unconditional love were withheld from him as a small child. If you go too far down this road, you suddenly start empathizing with him. I think it's important to say as well that there is something legitimately empowering at the root of some of these things.
