The Role of Starches in Sepsis

Most commonly used colloid in the ICU is human albumin. Albumin has also been shown to increase mortality and traumatic brain injury patients. So far we have, we can provide actually a no recommendation for albumin use as a roosting therapy in sepsis. We feel like there is no further role for starches as a fluid for resuscitation or maintenance in septic patients.
