The Difference Between Responding and Reacting

The difference between responding and reacting. We have to be situationally aware of not only what's happening right now in the external environment, which is typically what people refer to when they talk about situationa awareness. When you can have that fulness of situation awareness, then you can have a better chance of responding, verses reacting. And just especially having the mental equivalent of swatting away a ball that might hit you in the face. The more you do this, the faster you engage that response orientation.
