Is There a Stress Response in Endurance Athletes?

High-fit athletes are more resilient to the specific type of training that they're doing. A trend that I've noticed especially in endurance athletes is or athletes that do a lot of repetitive exercise often end up training at fairly high volumes even at recreational levels. aerobic training, low long steady state type training actually tends to have a stimulatory effect on HRV which is one of the reasons why it's been recommended as an effective recovery tool. 15 to 30 minutes on a bike or an aerodyne or light jog can actually enhance recovery or increase cardiac autonomic activity.
