Is There a Suffering Self in Buddhism?
In Buddhism and general systems theory, mutual causality in Buddhism is a way of looking at the self. In IFS terms it's like under what conditions does a suffering self come into existence? So yeah, self with the capital S there or sorry, a self. Oh, so not the true self, right? Okay. Because the other IFS friend or foot. Yeah, like a part, I guess is the better way to say it. Sorry. The suffering part is also called 'theory of dependent origination' And this is clear in the Buddha and in Nietzsche. It makes it sort of clearer how these things happen out of order.
