It all started back in two thousand and eight when the fda began requiring that every new diabede be tested in a card vascular outcomes trial. And i think everyone was surprised that, ye it actually did decrease morbidity and mortality in patience, regardless of if they had diabetes or not,. Right? I sometimes get a quizzical look from my patients like, wait a minute. Why would you want to start me on another medicationyes, i have been there too. Surprised by that. My personal hypothesis is that the hyper insulanemia associated with metabolic cindrom is really catastrophic.
