I guess there's a humanist impulse in me that's ways going to remain a little sceptical about how much the numbers can really tell us. And there's a lot in this book that is just fascinating on its face, but i think also superinstructive and helpful. I feel like human beings are just sort of hopelessly contradictory. You know, if every day was a perfect day, then pretty soon the things that made it perfect would cease to satisfy us. Because there's more to life than pleasure or happiness, and if that's all we had, we'd yearn for something else,. The sweet is only sweet because of the sour and all that.
