The Importance of Body Image Flexibility

The body positive movement was kind of an answer initially to that more simple definition of negative body image. So our idea was, well, if people like think bad about their body, then they can just practice thinking good about their body. The problem is, of course, that our minds don't always comply. And so maybe it doesn't matter so much if I'm really pretty or I'm really ugly, or my body is beautiful and my body is awful. Maybe what matters most is if when that comes up, I'm able to live my life the most effectively and meaningfully as I can.
