The Benefits of Functional Fibers

Fiber stimulates the production of bile acids that then reduce the absorption of cholesterol and remove cholesterol through the digestive system. Garlic is something I get asked about a lot as a GP but there isn't great evidence for it. Raw garlic, if you crush garlic and leave it for 10 minutes, you increase the amount of the phytochemical allicin in it.
