The more confident you are about the future, the more cautious you should be in provoking a clash in the here and now because things are just going to get better for you over time. That China, especially if it has articulated very big ambitions for what it wants to achieve, that China will be more incentivized to risk prone, risk-accepting behavior in the Here and Now.
