Stress is the dark matter of cognition. It's constantly having an impact on our cognitive functioning, but we're not privy to it. My interest has been around understanding the impact of mine wandering. The more time you spend engaging in a task, the more you know if they are right or wrong. And i think about this every time i pass through a security gate at the airport.
