The Importance of the Sacred Second Self
I'm not going to use the term divine double anymore, because I want to try and separate this idea from its commitment to theism. The notion of the sacred second self is a way of bringing back the idea of having the soul. Perhaps that's part of what I'm trying to transgress against. And there are deep connections therefore between Jung and Corbin. It's clearly the case in Neoplatonism. Stain makes this case for it both in Plotinus and at least the Neoplatonic aspects of Dionysus.
