I'm not immune from being addicted to my phone, but I've been really thoughtful about how I use it. One of the most heartening things I've heard from people who have read how to break up with your phone as an example is that even the process of beginning to think about this actually is improvement. Once you start to just think about it, you actually start to make changes without making effort. It can take weeks if not months plus a lot of willpower and self control to see a difference. But if you start to think about technology and change the way you interact with it, you start to feel the effects within days.
