Hayte declared war on the axis and tried to make itself an indispensable source of rubber for the allies. The plan to turn haite into a rubber factory failed, both economically and socially. Like the macdonald railroad contract, forced dispossession of the rural poor to make way for rubber plantations caused unrest and havoc. Once the war ended, the market for rubber dried up. Now after this, it looked like the presidency was either going to go to louis dejoue representing the wealthy colored alite,. or a massively popular leftis labor leader and former math teacher named daniel finole.
