"There certainly is a role for shame in solving this problem of compulsive over consumption," he says. "We need to converge together on a digital etiquette such that we have sort of socially accepted spaces where we're not on devices" He adds, "I've always thought of masochism as a clever adaptation to a world in which pain is inevitable"
