There's literally always something you can take responsibility for. Even if it's, I'm sorry, I hurt your feelings. And don't get into but or explaining your perspective. The silent treatment is shutting down and not giving your partner any indication that you're listening. Name calling comes from a place of superiority. Sometimes it's just a look, an eye roll or a sneer. So this is where it gets intense because most people, those are almost automatic or un they don't even know they're doing the eye roll. It's utter disdain.
