How to Train a Hamstring Injury Patient

The approach that we take is driven by what we found throughout our research here over the last sort of five years and our work with different athletes with hamstring injuries. So from the point of view, basically try to start exercising as early as we can. We do that regardless of how they present on their clinical assessment. If they've got a 50% deficit on strength, six out of 10 pain during contraction, range of motion deficits and palpation pain versus none of those things, we'll still try those same exercises. It's just progressive loading of the injured tissue, not trying to hide away from that.
