The Three Way Paradigm for Politeness

Nepali has a three way phenomenal system and that's reflected in a three way paradigm variation as well for politeness. I remember watching uh Chinese historical dramas with my wife and like this whole system is all dead now but there were pronouns all kinds of different pronouns including a first person pronoun that could only be used by the emperor so good. That project yeah I didn't know about Nepali but I guess the there are a number of languages in the same area everybody will think about Japanese and maybe Korean when they think about politeness levels.
