The Myth of Age-Related Cognitive Decline

There is a common notion that mental decline starts as early as people's 30s. In relatively healthy adults, normative age-related decline in most cognitive functions does not occur before the age of 60. This myth came out of a misinterpretation of findings because so many early studies were done just as cross-sectional studies and confound age with cohort.
