Is There Some Kind of Ancient Wisdom?
The idea that because something has always been done this way, therefore we should continue doing it this way is a fallacious argument. It's an argument for stasis, for everything staying the same and that surely can't be good. We want things to improve, not stay the same. When you take that view, you're systematically impeding progress. But with our brilliant creative minds, we can criticise traditions and come up with better ideas and make progress.
