Hypertrophy Training - What Is the Fatigue Difference Between Failure and Failure?
The difference between an RPE seven deadlift and an RPE 10 deadlift is pretty massive when it comes to the fatigue accumulated from that. The research on people who we would probably kind of call in an industry context, like intermediate lifters, seems to cause as much hypertrophy on a set-per-set basis as training to failure does. So I think how you approach that question depends on how much fatigue you think is coming from going to failure versus say an RPE of 7 or 8. It really does come, it really does just depend on the exercise.
