The Importance of Neck Tension
Tightening your neck is not a mortal sin. You can you can tense your neck and then if you're an Alexander person, you can free it up afterwards. But what I see more often is the fear of doing anything for fear that you might tense your neck. And so if you work out and your neck gets a little bit tense in the process, well, you'll improve that if it's important to you. That's something that you develop an ability and a skill to do with time and experience.
