Empathy in Virtual Realities

This chapter examines how virtual reality (VR) can foster empathy by simulating the experiences of others, such as Syrian refugees, while highlighting the debates over its effectiveness and ethical implications. It explores the concept of VR as an 'empathy machine' and analyzes the limitations of these simulations in authentically conveying real-life experiences.
