The good news about keeping those long runs honest in 5k and 10k training is that then as I mentioned earlier, you're never too far away from being able to go back to half marathon or marathon training. The overall training structure isn't that different from a half marathon or a marathon. And while you do have to switch gears and come off of your peak for 5k and10k training and then properly rebuild for a half or a full, you can't short circuit things. So keep that in mind,. which for some people may be bad news for some people, it's good news because they're the ones that are worried about out losing their ability to cover longer distances by switching
