The Importance of Logic in Philosophy

Yahya ibn Adi wrote a short treatise devoted specifically to this topic. He admits that grammar and logic have a lot in common, as they both deal with verbal expressions. But he says grammar by itself will not help you say anything true. Ibn Adi: If I can attain demonstrations of the truth using logic, then what else is left for the rest of philosophy to do?
