The Effect of Processed Foods on Mental Health
processed food is something that has added ingredients from largely chemical processes. These include flavourings, emulsifiers, artificial aromas added and foods you just can't make at home because of the particular process used. The ultra processed are often found in high-street shops as a cheaper alternative to wholefoods. When there is insufficient iodine during gestation we have chronically long term suppressed IQ in children. In the UK 67% of pregnant women were deficient in iodine - an essential nutrient for brain development.
