I think ultimately there is a qualitative effect here as well as a quantitative effect. If we literally just do probably you know kind of as you said some isometric contraction that maybe lasts a couple of seconds chances are we're pushing ourselves out of a catabolic state into an anabolic state. I don't think people think about these little overlaps that occur in their training sessions depending on how they're set up. It all depends on the design and how they did the workout programs, he says.
