Towards a Mechanism Based Approach

i think that the basic problem with a mechanism based approach is that it's very hard to distinguish what exactly the mechanism is. If you're holding fixed a mechanism of unreflective habit, then you can't allow for scenarios in which some other mechanism is doing the work. You need the whole agent to be reasons responsive, is my argument. And so then, philosophers like carolina sartorio and i have tried different ways to account for reason's responsiveness by taking what we call an agent based approach. To properly account for the freedom an agent retains when she acts freely, those reasons responsive features, have to commit one also to an adelity. I could say a lot more,
