Essential Fatty Acids - What Are They?
Essential fatty acids are called essential because we can't synthesize them in our own bodies. They're essential because if we don't get them from the diet, then we can become deficient and have symptoms such as poor skin health or hair falling out. So we shouldn't really shy away from foods that we know are rich in fat like nuts or avocados or seeds. And we should be looking to make our cooking, including our cooking healthy seed oils, like rapeseed oil, for example, or olive oil. That makes the food nicer and more palatable.
