Any exercise that has a high stability demand or not, as in we have to stabilize ourselves, is going to be very detrimental. So often I see that the most creative exercises that tend to fly around the fitness space tend to involve cables. You do not realize how much stability you have to create by your body standing holding heavy dumbbells. As we become more advanced lifters, we're going to seek exercises that are simpler, require less coordination, and also have a greater inherent stability.
