Every MSK radiologist typically has a favorite bone and a favorite joint. So when I'm doing MR, the ankle joint is kind of my thing. And basically these views are an indirect way for us to assess the stability of the ankle. Also be very careful sometimes with fractured dislocations to make sure they're back in joint.
