For general population, I think the kettlebell world is probably better for the general population than the barbell deadlift. Once you've done it once, you don't really want to do it twice. The 10,000 swing challenge in colonoscopy. There is a bit more of a metabolic hit from those high rep swing workouts. Your grip strength just goes through the roof. You get very strong.
