German Film Review - All Card in the Western Front

The film of course came out at the time of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and in some ways it was unfortunate that the German director should produce a version of the great anti war book. The French were fighting to defend their country from an invader that had occupied a very large part of it just as the Russians have occupied a large part of Ukraine. You might be forgiven for thinking the message of this film is just that war is bad. I don't think that's how a Ukrainian audience would see it.
