I think that the analogy you give with mathematics can apply here as a as a pure egoist which I'll continue to defend. evolutionarily I can explain the the development of my moral faculties through the hedonistic principle either by spreading my genes or through kind of reciprocal altruism and that's how it came about. Now I have a moral faculty that I can apply reason to and extend it to things that are far detached from that evolutionary origin such as caring about non-human animals but the actual motive would still just be a subjective preference for my own pleasure That's that's evolved naturally and I think that can offer a way to compel people to act morally without having to accept metaphysical claim that
